As you estimate your labor costs, drivers will calculate the number of times a labor activity will be done.
Labor Activities (the action being done) are assigned to Drivers.
Consider this simple example: when estimating your labor costs when running the Pick and Place machine, the driver would be the total number of SMT placements pulled from your BOM. There are 2 ways to create drivers in CalcuQuote:
Configuration: Labor Drivers
-
Navigate to Configuration using the 3-gear icon
-
Click the Labor tile in Configuration
-
Select Drivers and click the + to create a driver.
Create Driver from New Activity Popup
When creating new Labor Activities (link here to learn more about creating Labor Activities), you can use the + next to Drivers to add a new one.
After entering the name of the driver, you will then determine
- Count Type:
- Blank: Should the count be left blank (no numerical value inputted - user adds when quoting)
- Fixed: Is the driver count a fixed number (numerical value auto populates - users can't modify it when quoting)?
- Recommended: Is it a recommended number (numerical value auto-populates - users can modify the number when quoting)?
- Count Sub-Type: If you've chosen either Fixed or Recommended above, the next step will be determining how the numerical value is calculated.
- Static: Is it a static numerical value (i.e. number of jobs)?
- Formula: Is it a dynamic number (i.e. number of SMT placements)? For the latter, you can create formulas that will auto-populate based on part classification.
