ShopCQ: How to Reuse a Deleted PO Number

✅ Step 1: Delete a PO (if needed)

  • From the PO Management screen, locate the PO you want to delete.

  • Click Delete (permissions apply).

  • The PO is removed from active records, but the number is now released for reuse.

⚠️ Note: Deleted POs are no longer actionable but may still appear in audit logs depending on configuration.

🔁 Step 2: Recreate the PO Using the Same Number

  • When creating a new PO, enter the previously deleted PO number in the PO number field.

  • The system will now accept the number without returning a duplicate error.

  • Proceed with PO creation as usual.


💡 Why This Matters

  • Easier project-level organization (e.g., PO123 for multiple stages of a single project).
  • Better alignment with external systems that rely on PO number consistency.
  • Less manual renumbering or tracking in spreadsheets.
