Line Card Groups allow you to manage variations in franchised supplier-manufacturer relationships across different regions or contexts. While traditional line cards are configured per supplier or per manufacturer, Line Card Groups introduce a layer of flexibility that accounts for regional or organizational differences.
Remember that having your manufacturers names grouped is important for a correct line card configuration and management.
A Line Card represents the list of manufacturers that a supplier is authorized to distribute (or vice versa). However, these relationships often vary by region, business unit, or customer segment. That’s where Line Card Groups come in.
Creating a Line Card Group
-
Go to the Line Card Group configurations
Navigate to Configurations > Supplier Data > Line Card Groups -
Create a new group
- Click the "+" icon
- Give your group a name that reflects its use (e.g., “EMEA Line Card Group”, “Asia-Pacific Line Card”)
- Click the "+" icon
-
Add Line Card Relationships to the Group
- For each supplier, specify the list of manufacturers they are franchised for within that group.
- Example:
- Group: EMEA
DigiKey → Murata, Vishay, TDK
Arrow → Vishay, Texas Instruments - Group: APAC
DigiKey → Murata, NXP
Arrow → TDK, Renesas
- Group: EMEA
-
Save the Group
Once all relationships are defined, click Save. Your Line Card Group is now ready to use when sending Bids By Line Card.
-
Send Bid Sheets with new option
When sending your Bid Sheets, you will have a new option for Bid By Line Card Group.
The system will then use the grouped Line Card instead of the standard system's line card.
