As your end-to-end RFQ management solution, capturing the Job Type in CalcuQuote communicates the scope of the job and which departments/users will be involved in the quoting process.
By capturing the Job Type on the RFQ form, you are assigning which workflow to pull in order to complete the quote so that you can deliver the quote efficiently and accurately to your customer.
When configuring Job Types, they can either be broad or specific.
- Will it be both Materials and Labor?
- Or will it just be one?
- Are there different departments or users involved in the quoting process when it is a prototype vs a production quote?
- Does your company have multiple locations?
- Does your company have both a PCB and Cable division?
These are all examples of how you can be more granular when configuring Job Types.
How to Configure Job Types
- Navigate to Configuration using the 3-gear icon in the toolbar on the left-hand side:
- Click RFQ Setup on the Configuration page
- Click the + to add a new Job Type
- Add a name, select the Job Type Category, and capture any additional information. Once completed, click save.
The Goal tab will allow you to set up the turn time days which will be shown under reports > Statics for Display only. It is not a mandatory field, it can be left blank.
