QuoteCQ: How to Import Alternates into Existing BOM

You can now import alternate part numbers alongside your main BOM — no extra steps or menus required. This feature makes it easier to manage pre-approved alternates and streamline your quoting process.

A popup appears when you import a BOM into an existing BOM. The system detects any overlapping parts and prompts you with a choice:

✅ If You Select “Yes, add as alternates”

For each line item in your import:

      • If that line item already exists, the system adds the new part(s) as alternates to the existing one.

      • If the line item does not exist, it is added as a new line in the BOM, and any associated alternates are added to that line.

All alternates are imported with the status Pending, so you can review and approve them later.

      ❌ If You Select “No”

      • The system skips the alternate import step and takes you back to your previous screen.

      • No changes are made to the existing BOM.
