QuoteCQ: How to Create a PLA Quote

QuoteCQ users can cost more than RFQs! Use CalcuQuote to negotiate your price lists.

How to start a new PLA Quote

  1. Navigate to the top of the screen and click on the New PLA Quote button
  2. QuoteCQ will show the PLA Form, which differs from the RFQ form you might be used to. Here you will find:
    • Quote ID
    • RFQ Submitted by: refers to the user creating the Quote.
    • Project ID: similar to the Assembly ID of an RFQ
    • Project Number: similar to the Assembly Number of an RFQ
    • Project Name: similar to the Assembly Name of an RFQ
    • Project In Date: by default the PLA creation date (today).
    • Project Due Date: the date when the PLA should be completed.
  3. Once you fill in the information for the PLA Quote, click the Submit button.

Upload the Component List

PLA Quotes use the same Smart Import widget as any RFQ.

Some considerations:

  • The Quantity per is the mandatory field, and it should be the total demand for the negotiation.
  • PLA Quotes allow the user to indicate the Customer for each line in the file. To do so, the Customer name has to be listed in the Customer List of the QuoteCQ Application.
  • Once the file is imported, the user will be able to access every BOM tab functionality that's also available for RFQs, such as Scrub my BOM, BOM Insights, Suggestion by Descriptions, Machine Learning, BOM Health, etc.

Certain functions in the BOM tab are specially designed for price list negotiations, although they are also available for any RFQ:

  • Populating the ERP pricing as the Target Price (Coming Soon!)
  • Populating the current Supplier from the ERP (Coming Soon!)

Costing the PLA

The Material Costing tab for a PLA Quote is the same as for an RFQ. See how to use the Material Costing.

Since it is possible to indicate the Customer for each lines, the Suppliers will be able to see the Customer information per line when using the Bid Sheets.

Certain functions and processes are specially designed for price list negotiations, although they are also available for any RFQ:

  • How to Send Bids excluding the Current Supplier (Coming Soon!)
  • How to compare the ERP price vs. the Quote Price (Coming Soon!)
  • How to convert the Quoted Price into the Target Price (Coming Soon!)
  • How to give the current Supplier a second chance (Coming Soon!)
