QuoteCQ: What do the BOM Tab's "Actions" buttons do?

In the top right corner of the BOM tab, there is an "Actions" button which will display different functionality options meant to help you to increase the speed and efficiency when working on your BOM.

BOM Template

By clicking on this option you can download an template for the BOM structure that includes all the possible columns that you can map when importing into CalcuQuote.

This template might be helpful in case you need guidance when structuring your information. Please notice that the template structure is not the mandatory structure to upload a BOM into CalcuQuote, but only an example.

You can import any Excel file no matter the columns you have or how you label them, as long as you have the Qty per component and map the columns when importing.

Smart Import

Use the Smart Import button to upload your BOM file.

Copy BOM

In case you want to re-upload a BOM that you used in a previous RFQ, you can copy a BOM from an old quote using this option.

View BOM Health

If you are subscribed to the BOM Health portal, you will also be able to run a BOM Health report for your uploaded BOM by using this option in the Actions menu.

View BOM Health Monitoring

If the option above allows you to get a BOM Health report for the uploaded BOM, BOM Health Monitoring will allow you to set a scheduled to monitor your BOM Health by generating recurring reports.

This functionality requires a BOM Health subscription.

Unassigned Manufacturers

The Unassigned Manufacturers option will help you manage your Line Cards by showing a list of Manufacturers in your BOM that are not included in any Manufacturer Group, therefore they might not be included in the necessary line card.

Suggestion By Description

This option is meant to help you complete your BOM where you have Manufacturer Part Numbers missing. The system will suggest you different MPNs based on the description you provided in the BOM.

Suggested Mfgr by CQ

If some or all manufacturers in your BOM are missing, you can use the Suggested Mfgr by CQ option to get some suggestions based on your MPNs.

CQ Alternate Part Suggestion

The CQ Alternate Part Suggestion function uses the Machine Learning tol help you add value to your Customer by proposing some alternate MPNs.

You can add alternate components to the BOM and ask your customer for approval, keeping track of the approval process.

Scrub my BOM

By using the BOM Scrubbing function, you can automatically populate Part Classifications, Descriptions, Lead Qty and Attrition based on your Quote History and your ERP Information.

BOM Info

One more option to provide valuable information that will help you make better decisions. By using BOM Info you can populate lifecycle status, datasheets, and descriptions. Additionally, it supports our ‘Suggest MPN by Description’ feature.

Auto Apply MPN Suggestions

Linked to our BOM Insights functions (explained below), the Auto Apply MPN button will allow you to accept the MPN Suggestions from the BOM Insights.

BOM Insights

The BOM Insights is a group of functionalities that will help you to complete the BOM by using your ERP Information. These functions include populating IPNs, CPNs and Target prices, as well as MPNs based on your IPNs or your customer's PNs.

Delete BOM

In case you need to start the BOM from scratch, you can delete it completely from the system. Please notice that this action will delete any pricing provided by the suppliers and it cannot be undone.

Report

By clicking on the Report option, you can download the existing BOM in an Excel file. Please note that this will not download the BOM that you imported, but the information that was uploaded and updated in CQ. Also, the BOM tab needs to be submitted in order to download the information correctly.
